The Medicine Wheel is one of the many instruments used to help in the understanding of self.  The Medicine Wheel has the four directions represented each direction brining with it a meaning and understanding that we can then apply to where we are right now.  Masculinity is present in the East.

The East uses the element of Air which is connected to new ideas, inspiration and intellect.  If you prefer to work with angels Archangel Raphael will support you here.  The East itself represents new beginnings. The East is where we enter and leave the Medicine Wheel as it is where the sun rises every morning bringing with it a new day, a fresh start

The North uses the element of fire which energizes and purifies.  If you would prefer calling upon the assistance of angels then Archangel Michael will support you here.  The North itself symbolizes the strength, determination and courage needed to move ahead with our new ideas.

The West uses the element of earth which aides in our time of healing.  If you prefer the assistance of angels then Archangel Uriel supports you here. When issues we are facing appear so insurmountable that we can not move forward, when we feel alone and undecided this is when we are in the direction of the West.  For it is in the West where we gain nurturing and compassion.  In order for us to move forward and see the blocks that have been put in our life to actually be blessings and lessons we need to surrender to the Universe knowing that when the time is right we will move through it.  Femininity is present in the West.

The South uses the element of water representing flow, intuition and insight.  Archangel Gariel is the angel to support us in the South.  The South symbolizes the place of our "Medicine".  "Medicine" is our true spiritual essence.  Our "Medicine" is linked to an Animal.  It is this animals spirit that represents our true Medicine.  The Essence of us is not the human person we are everyday.  It is not just our mind, or our emotions. It is our pure spiritual essence.  It is our Soul.  Our Medicine is always connected to us. 

The Centre of the Medicine Wheel is where the "Tree of Life" stands.  The Tree of Life connects us to the Lower world where we store our shadow, the Middle world where we live and the Upper world of Spirit.  When in the centre of the Medicine Wheel we call upon all those that are here to assist us.  Anything we manifest in the centre of the medicine wheel will manifest quickly.

It is important that when a Medicine Wheel is set up that it is set up with the correct intention.  We must also clear the Medicine Wheel on completion.
